Half Moon Bay State Beach     MORE

I have never stopped here, and I have the idea that it would be too crowded for my taste. But it sounds accessible indeed. Please send a report if you can confirm or correct the description below, from Park publicity (as are the photos).

Half Moon Bay State Beach, located 30 minutes south of San Francisco on Highway 1, just north of the town of Half Moon Bay, has recently completed a boardwalk extending to a snowy plover nesting area. It connects to a paved 4-mile seashore trail--offering picnicking, camping, wildlife viewing and beach access--and both trails are fully accessible. The park also maintains two all-terrain wheelchairs with balloon tires for the use of disabled visitors who want to take advantage of the several ocean access points along the trail. Disabled visitors qualify for a 50 percent discount on the park entrance fee, and the all-terrain wheelchairs are available at no cost. Ask at the entrance station on Kelly Avenue, 650/726-8819.
Francis Beach campground has four accessible sites and two accessible comfort stations. Outdoor rinsing showers, the only bathing facilities available, are accessibly designed. The campfire center is also accessible.
The Francis Beach day use area includes accessible picnicking, parking, restrooms, dressing rooms, and outdoor rinsing showers.
