Rancho San Antonio Midpeninsula Open Space Preserve and County Park (between Los Altos and Cupertino) AA-C; 5+ mi; Rainy Weather Yes          MAP                    INFO

I haven't been to this park, but I have it on good authority that we ought to check it out, maybe some time when bad weather keeps the crowds down. They claim to have 25 miles of trails, and while it stands to reason not all of them can be wheelchair accessible, photos show wide smooth paths taking shallow slopes or crossing streams on quaint looking but ADA compliant bridges. The story is that in spite of heavy use, this is a good place to see wildlife, and pictures posted online show plenty of wild turkeys, quail, and deer, in interesting and varied terrain. If you get there first, please let me know what you find.

According to online information, many or most of the trails are wheelchair accessible. The Bay Hiker website review describes and shows photos of a five-mile hike that looks close to ideal, if you're up for that distance. And, if that's too far, the Preserve is home to Deer Hollow Farm, a working farm, it says here, with a cow, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, an organic garden and turn-of-the-century ranch buildings of the late 1800s, only a mile from the parking lot.

Details: From I-280, take the Foothill Boulevard exit, go about 0.2-mile to Cristo Rey Drive. Turn right and continue for about 1 mile; after the traffic circle, turn left into the County Park. The trailhead is near the northwest lot. Disabled parking is provided, and toilets at the parking lot and at the farm. No fees, no dogs (service dogs excepted) maps available at entrance.
