Vasona Lake and Los Gatos Creek Santa Clara County Parks

By all reports Vasona Lake and the adjacent trails along Los Gatos Creek are well developed for access and fine places to enjoy a hike or picnic. Wheelchair user Mark Hehir reports in spring 2010:

Vasona Park has become one of my favorite parks to go to. It has miles of paved trails, some of which run along each side of the park's lake. There is also a paved pathway that has a creek on one side of it. A lot of the pathways are shaded by trees, which offer a cool escape during the hot summer days. It can get crowded during the weekend so I found it best to get there early. There are several accessible bathrooms and parking throughout the park, along with many picnic tables that are easy to get to.

Mark took these pictures, which show that the terrain is nearly level, and some areas of the parks are "undeveloped" or at least not mowed. Fun to explore!
